As an observer of human behavior and relationship, I see the sticky interconnectedness of self, other, and systems that often imprison us in behaviors, thoughts, and reactions that can feel unchangeable. I believe people often do the best they can to face the challenges of life, yet in doing so, some of what we discover works at first, fails us long-term. And it’s here that we often feel trapped—between doing what we know to do and knowing what we’re doing is no longer working. That’s where I come in. I’m here to help you find freedom in areas that seem unchangeable, freedom in living into your best self, and freedom in healthy relationship. It’s a journey, but a worthy one, and one that you don’t need to travel alone.
Anxiety manifests in a variety of ways within our body, mind and behavior. Some of us use perfectionism, people-pleasing or busyness as a way to manage anxiety. Others use control, binge tv watching, distraction, worry or cutting off emotions. I assist individuals in ways to unburden anxiety and heal from within in new and expanding ways. Our work together has the potential to create lasting change.
Throughout the lifespan many individuals experience events that remain unprocessed and get stuck in their psyche and body. All my work is trauma-informed and invites individuals who have experienced trauma to regain safety, process unresolved aspects of their experiences, understand family of origin influence, and release pieces of trauma held by the body.
Most of us have our own inner critics. The parts of us that tell us, “You’re not enough. You can’t do this. You don’t even know who you are. You’re never going to get it right.” The good news is that these inner critics don’t have to keep repeating the same tired dialogue. I help guide individuals in building new and profound relationships with themselves and embrace authentic confidence.
I provide depth-oriented individual therapy services for adult individuals. I have extensive training in trauma-informed approaches and personalize counseling to meet individual needs. I have advanced training (Level 2) in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and use this as my primary approach to serve clients. IFS is a proven modality to bring healing to even the most unconscious places within. Individuals often experience a release of shame, deeply held negative beliefs, trauma, and pain. Unlike other therapies, IFS works with the whole body and person. You will learn why you unconsiously fall into the same patterns, behave the way you do and think the way you do. You will also have the opportunity to tap into a wealth of inner resources that include compassion, courage, creativity and confidence.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#116760) with experience helping individuals, couples and families. I have extensive training in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, boundaries, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem building, stress management and family of origin issues.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University and went on to obtain my Masters of Marital and Family Therapy at Bethel University. After spending years working with individuals struggling with mental health and co-occurring addictions, I worked with veterans and military families. During my years in practice, I have completed specialized training to better serve individuals experiencing PTSD and trauma, family of origin issues, anxiety, and sleep disorders.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I enjoy spending my free time engaging in creative ventures (drawing, painting, etc.), reading, spending time outdoors, and spontaneous activities and adventures with my family.
Therapy is an excellent resource that has the ability to be a catalyst for growth, healing, wellness, and freedom. It is effective for many individuals; however, there are times when therapy is not a good fit. I am here to collaborate with you on what will be most effective for you and your concerns. If this isn’t a right fit, we can discuss what other resources might be better.
An initial session is an opportunity for you to see if we are a good fit. Your session is your space. All treatment will be designed specifically for you. The first session helps me better understand how we can customize your treatment based on your goals, history, and needs.
It depends. In the initial session, we will discuss goals for therapy and these will be targeted throughout treatment. While the change process can be a funky one, I am here to help guide you, readjust treatment as needed, and remind you that change often feels uncomfortable at first. Clients that make the most progress in therapy are those who are committed to the process— maintaining a growth-mindset and attending sessions regularly.
For most effective treatment, attending sessions 1x/wk is best. Depending on goals and needs, bi-weekly sessions may be an option. However, I strongly encourage clients to attend at least 4-6 sessions weekly before transitioning to bi-weekly sessions.
No. As an LMFT, I am not licensed to prescribe medications. Some people may benefit from medications, while others do not. For clients that may benefit, I explore options and may make referrals to providers who are licensed to prescribe. Whether or not you move forward in taking medications will be entirely your choice.
You can pay for therapy services via cash, check, or credit card. I do not currently accept insurance; however, your insurance company may reimburse you. It is best to call and ask your insurance if they cover out-of-network mental health services and what is needed for reimbursement.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Life happens, I get it. I enforce a 48-hour cancellation policy due to the limitations involved in scheduling/rescheduling. For cancellations less than 48-hours in advance, you will be charged your session rate (exceptions will only be allowed for specific extenuating circumstances).
